How Direct Billing Works

Bring Your Information

Please bring your insurance card or benefit information, valid identification, and a prescription if you already have one.

We Verify Your Plan

Our team will check whether your insurer permits direct billing and determine the amount available under your plan.

Pay Only the Remaining Balance

When direct billing is approved, you pay only the portion not covered by your plan. If direct billing is unavailable, we will provide a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We offer direct billing to many major insurance providers and benefit administrators when permitted by the individual plan.

No. Coverage is determined by your insurance provider and depends on your plan, eligibility, remaining benefit balance, and applicable limitations.

Our team may be able to verify your available benefits with your insurer. Some providers restrict the information they release, so you may need to contact them directly.

Depending on your plan, coverage may include eye examinations, prescription frames, lenses, contact lenses, or lens enhancements. Limits and eligible products vary.

Coordination of benefits depends on the rules of both plans. Please bring information for the primary and secondary plans so our team can review the available options.

You can pay Optical Trust directly, and we will provide an itemized receipt for submission to your insurance provider.

Some plans cover prescription sunglasses as part of their eyewear allowance. Non-prescription sunglasses are not commonly covered, but you should confirm with your insurer.

Most plans have a defined benefit period, and unused amounts may expire rather than carry forward. Contact your insurer to confirm your renewal date and remaining balance.
